A story route beside Mana, with completed tasks kept for review
The original player gains a 25-chapter, 162-objective walkthrough. Route keeps unfinished objectives, Completed keeps checked tasks, and one original-game milestone has verified automatic detection.
The walkthrough now sits to the left of the original game, with game assists kept on the right. Route contains unfinished objectives and an Up next card. Checking a step removes it from the route, slides the following tasks upward and retains its directions in Completed tasks. Unchecking a completed task brings it back. Reduced-motion preferences are respected.
The 25 chapters cover the story from Potos Falls to the Mana Beast, with 145 story objectives and 17 optional preparations. Search and the full guide remain available. Later confirmed story progress takes priority over older unfinished tasks, and optional preparations do not block the current route. The route text is newly written from the listed references; it is not a claim that the whole campaign has been replayed.
Automatic and manual coverage are deliberately stated separately. The Mana Sword pickup is the one automatic checkpoint in this release. It was reached from the unchanged USA cartridge using genuine controller inputs in the exact retained browser core; both original event flags were observed changing. The other 161 objectives use manual checks until their completion can be detected reliably. Every objective can be corrected by hand.
The observer verifies the exact cartridge, reads current original work RAM and waits for stable normal gameplay. It rejects title, scripted and menu states. Loading an earlier snapshot returns later automatic completion to Route, while explicit manual choices remain. The checklist uses its own isolated browser storage and import/export format; it neither creates a game save nor writes cartridge SRAM.
Both the page Fullscreen action and the original players native fullscreen keep route access available. Native fullscreen moves the same checklist panel into the games container and restores it afterward, so tabs, search and checkbox state are preserved. On narrow screens the panel stacks above the player with a compact preamble.
What changed
- Added Route and Completed tabs with live counts, Up next, task promotion, search, full-guide access and manual correction.
- Added 162 stable objectives across 25 chapters; optional preparations remain independent of the main route.
- Added one read-only, original-ROM-specific automatic sword checkpoint with stable observations and explicit manual fallback for 161 objectives.
- Added an isolated schema 1 checklist with import/export, kept separate from game saves and Java checkpoints.
- Added native fullscreen panel movement and responsive layout while preserving original graphics, audio, controller recovery, trigger time controls and optional cheats.
What we verified
- The guide passed 28 route/source/schema checks. The checklist passed 39 tests with 258 assertions; the fullscreen helper passed 139 DOM contract checks. These model checks remain separate from browser and game-core evidence.
- Progress detection passed 50 focused checks and 13 actual pinned-WASM checks. A fresh unchanged-ROM replay used 20,076 controller frames to establish the sword flags, menu rejection and genuine earlier/later snapshot rollback. Twenty read-only observations changed zero serialized game-state bytes.
- Seven additional actual-core scheduling/allocation checks show natural frames continue and 323 captures reuse one buffer without heap growth. The production observer does not free or replace core-owned buffers.
- Eighteen real browser checks covered boot, removal/promotion, Completed review, undo, persistence, search, keyboard tabs, captured-state automatic completion/rollback, manual override and resuming automatic checks, 390 px / 1440 px layouts, and both fullscreen routes. No human save was accessed.
- The release gate pins the unchanged cartridge/runtime, 267 Java files, four frozen downloads, existing controller/cache integration and all eight older journal entries. The Java build remains 0.16.0.
What remains unfinished
- Automatic coverage is currently 1 of 162 objectives. The remaining 161 are clearly manual; later event flags need their own reliable proofs before automatic coverage can expand.
- The native Java reconstruction remains unfinished at 0.16.0; this website/player update does not complete its campaign, battles, audio engine or original-player handoff.
- The written guide is a concise story route, not an exhaustive map of every room, chest or equipment drop. Recruitment and some visits allow different orders.
- The complete campaign and all physical controller/browser combinations have not been replayed. Browser automatic checks used genuine private captures from the separate unchanged-core input proof. Checklist export does not back up the game save.
