Two ways
to explore.

The original game and the rebuild have their own places here. Each serves a different part of keeping this adventure accessible.

01 / The original adventure

Play Secret of Mana.

The supplied USA cartridge runs through a browser SNES emulator, with original game graphics, controls and sound. This is the original game running in emulation.

Keyboard, gamepad and touch controls are available. Save progress in your browser; export your save before clearing browser data or changing devices.

02 / The editable rebuild

Follow the Java version.

Build 0.16 preserves original maps and sprites and implements parts of the opening sequence in Java compiled for HTML5. Its latest work adds source-derived character stats, graphics conversion, object refresh and interrupt handling.

The Java build is unfinished. It pauses at the opening scene’s player-control handoff; full movement, combat, music playback and the campaign still need implementation.

The music archive

A world you
can hear.

Listen to the game’s original music in a dedicated player.

Recordings come from the supplied cartridge’s sound data. Track identifiers and recovery notes stay with the music so the source of each listening copy remains clear.

Original stats.
Original graphics.
A careful handoff.

The character refresh now prepares the original stat calculations, party graphics, equipment tiles, object scan and palette copy in Java. The interrupt clock preserves the graphics wait separately from normal game updates.

These components are tested. Connecting them to live player control is the next stage of the rebuild.

Preserve it. Understand it. Change it.

The source
stays with it.

The preservation package includes the editable Java source, original exported PNG and binary artwork, game data, verification evidence and reproduction tools. The supplied cartridge remains unchanged.

The Java source provides an editable foundation for future changes, including combat fixes. Full-game behavior and a complete campaign playthrough have not been verified. The original playable option uses emulation; it is separate from the native Java development build.

Original game, artwork and music belong to their respective creators. This is an independent preservation project.
