Lanternbound

A new illustrated edition of Buster: a silver-helmed lantern knight, moonlit terrain and ancient clockwork guardians. ImageGen produced the replacement graphics, which were converted to the original X68000 tile and palette formats.

Version1.1 — connected scenery, a clearer sword gauge

New scenery is constrained to the original tile boundaries and flat fills, removing the mismatched sky bands and edge colors. A large silver-and-amber browser gauge shows the real SWORD charge and explains when another attack is ready. Each attack costs8 of40 charge units and requires the button to be released before another swing. Combat rules are unchanged.

The executable, music, maps and game rules remain unchanged. The derived disk and browser checkpoints have their own identities. The original Buster player and preservation release remain available separately.
