/ PRESENTATION UPDATE
A closer camera for Juno
Juno, creatures and objects looked too small against the stage. The HD browser preview now uses a 1.5× closer world view: everything in the level appears 50% larger on the same 1920 × 1080 canvas.
Partial first-level development preview. This update adjusts presentation. Full campaign flow, audio, verified saves and complete gameplay and animation coverage remain unfinished or unverified.
What changed on screen
The world view changes from 512 × 288 source-coordinate units to 341⅓ × 192, with the same 16:9 canvas. Each source unit now occupies 5.625 canvas pixels instead of 3.75. The HUD keeps its previous screen size and spacing.
| At 1920 × 1080 | Earlier view | Closer view |
|---|---|---|
| 16-unit terrain tile | 60 pixels | 90 pixels |
| Small Juno artwork height | 90 pixels | 135 pixels |
| Large Juno artwork height | 135 pixels | 202.5 pixels |
These are canvas measurements; the responsive page scales the whole canvas to fit your display. Visual headroom follows the player during jumps, while the feet remain anchored to the original world coordinates.
What stays tied to the original
The closer framing and headroom follow are visual only. They do not change the original level geometry, collision coordinates, player physics, jump motion, actor AI, native camera state, activation bounds, controller mapping or game timing. Source animation cadence remains unchanged. The preview still begins directly in the original Yoshi’s Island 1 sublevel, 105.
The earlier Juno SNES edition and preserved original Super Mario World edition remain separate and unchanged by this presentation update.
Remaining development work
This is still a partial conversion beginning in the first level. World-map and entrance flow, the full campaign, audio integration, remaining actor and player paths, and a verified save/reload workflow remain outstanding. Unconverted gameplay paths can stop the preview. Run-animation quality remains under review.
The images above are static compositions. They do not establish new live gameplay, save or animation acceptance. The earlier October 30 HD update records its own bounded browser observations.
