Java build 0.11.0From the development notes

Completing the original landing reaction

The Java opening gained the eight original reaction frames, the busy barrier and the source wait before the waterfall dialogue continues.

Retrospective on October 12, 2026. Published here on October 25, 2026.

Earlier native work imported original maps and sprites and rebuilt the opening event interpreter, supported scripted movement, the fall and the Sword Falls landing. Build 0.11 continued that chain with the original landing reaction.

The supported reaction plays its eight source frames at the verified landing position. The next animation call completes the original busy state, allowing the original event wait and dialogue to resume.

This was an opening milestone, not a completed campaign. The rebuild has continued to keep original game data and newly written Java code distinguishable.

What changed

  • Added the source landing-reaction frame graph and exact completion barrier.
  • Kept its original fixed landing position and camera context.
  • Preserved the existing original forced-animation artwork files unchanged.

What we verified

  • The reaction suite passed 111,811 assertions, including source-frame, busy-barrier and changed-program refusal checks.

What remains unfinished

  • Ordinary post-reaction idle, the splash lifetime, player controls, audio and the complete campaign still needed work.
