An original adventure,
kept playable.

· First preservation release

The supplied USA cartridge and the copy inside its ZIP match byte for byte. This release brings the original Genesis game together with a walkthrough, save tools and recovered original media.

Play the original.

The browser player runs the unchanged cartridge through a retained, self-hosted Genesis core. Its left sidebar has 117 manually checked steps across 16 chapters, with Route and Completed views. The checklist has its own storage and is separate from game saves.

Startup offers Create or Load for a portable .genesissave session. Sessions contain a verified native snapshot and the full cartridge save buffer. Hover controls offer a separate browser quick save and quick load. Fast-forward offers 2×, 3× and 4× targets; rewind offers 1×, 2×, 4× and 8× targets. Loading or restarting clears the previous rewind branch.

Optional assistance, checked against the game.

Infinite HP and the enemy collision bypass are separate choices. The latter makes 54 source-verified attack dispatches see no collision before damage and knockback. Original puzzle and platform checks remain active. Actual native tests distinguish the health freeze from no-hit behavior and verify three original spring interactions. Terrain hazards, unique scripts and three unclassified zero-damage callers remain outside verified coverage. Money buttons request 5,000, 50,000 or 100,000 Malins and stop at the original 9,999 cap. Magic-point and experience cheats are omitted because those counters have not been established in this game.

Original pixels and sound.

The gallery contains 939 image views with original-size display, zoom, pan and PNG downloads. Recovered base backgrounds and runtime images are distinguished from indexed resource diagnostics; a diagnostic sheet is not presented as a finished sprite with a guessed palette.

The music archive has 26 commands: 24 looping pieces and two finite pieces. Music command 03 uses two synchronized channel groups with different original loop lengths. Those groups repeat independently, preserving the score’s changing relative timing. The ending and finite cue stop naturally. The effect player offers 108 audible commands, including six continuous sounds with verified loops; nine rest-only slots remain in the source inventory.

All listening files preserve the captured PCM. Loop boundary selection moves both ends by the same small amount within one native frame, preserving each original period while reducing waveform discontinuity. No crossfade or new audio samples are introduced. Command identifiers, raw sample definitions, source offsets and hashes remain available in the recovery records.

What was verified.

Actual browser testing reached the original title, name entry and birthday scene. A paused quick save was changed by real game input and then restored to the exact same native-state hash; pause was retained and rewind history cleared. A downloaded session reopened in a fresh page. Native checks also exercised the original Save command and loaded its cartridge slot from SRAM in a fresh process without loading an emulator snapshot.

Decoded graphics were compared with the cartridge’s original decompression routines. Every released FLAC was decoded and compared with its recorded PCM hash and sample count. Browser media and responsive checks are recorded separately from native checks. Rates are targets and depend on device performance.

What remains.

The full campaign and physical controller hardware have not been tested. Palette assignment, runtime sprite composition and story-specific graphics variants remain incomplete. Track and effect scene names are still being associated with their original command IDs. An original in-game Save does not automatically update the chosen external session file; use Save session now.

Actual selected-file writes and complete readback were verified using a new disposable file.
