Controls
Move with the arrow keys. Enter is Start. Genesis A is Z, B is X, and C is S. In the original game, check the button setup in its menu. Use Controls to remap a keyboard or controller. Touch buttons are below the screen.
The game options appear when you hover over or focus the screen. On touch devices they stay visible. Quick save and quick load keep one separate snapshot in this browser.
Your chosen save file
Create a new .genesissave file or load an existing one at startup. Save session now writes your current game position and original cartridge save data to the chosen file. A confirmation appears only after a complete write, close and matching readback.
Use Load for existing files. Create and Save as require a NEW filename: a system Replace prompt can erase an older file before the page receives it. Read-only files can be played; use Save as with a new filename or download a backup. In download mode, keep the latest copy yourself.
Original in-game saves and quick saves remain separate. After saving at an original save point, use Save session now to carry that cartridge save in your chosen file. Automatic recognition of an original save commit has not yet been established.
Preservation notes
This runs the unchanged USA cartridge through the retained EmulatorJS 4.2.3 / Genesis Plus GX core. It is an emulated original. Player controls, media recovery and source research are new preservation work; they do not rewrite the cartridge.
