The controller problem had two causes. Automatic device selection could choose an Xbox 360 controller instead of the intended Logitech Dual Action. Separately, recorder input routing could keep gameplay blocked when a mapped control remained active or a stick drifted after leaving the testing flow.

A deliberate choice should stay chosen

The active gamepad is now remembered by identity across page reloads, reconnections and browser slot changes. Other connected pads cannot take over an explicitly selected controller. If that controller disconnects, the player can reconnect it or deliberately choose another device in Controller setup.

Returning from recording also became more precise. Only the held controls involved in leaving the recorder wait for release; a drifting axis is not allowed to block the entire game indefinitely. Keyboard and touch remain available beside the controller, while focus loss and disconnection release the appropriate inputs.

The recovery evidence included the Logitech device being selected, user-confirmed movement and jumping, 127 frontend checks and 32 routing checks. Simulated input tests help cover edge cases, but they do not replace a person trying the actual hardware. Both were useful for this fix.
