COSOM · GAME PRESERVATION

Development update · November 3, 2026 · Wrapper 1.1.0

Your adventure, in a file

Choose where your Seiken Densetsu 3 adventure lives, with eight separate snapshot slots for the moments you want to keep.

The November 3 COSOM save-system handoff has been adapted to the retained English v1.01 SNES edition. Open an existing .srm file or create a new one before the game starts. When an in-game statue save produces a stable update, a reminder pauses the game and offers Save file. Dismissing the reminder keeps that update pending.

Keeping your progress

Direct mode writes to the same chosen local file only after permission, exclusive-stream checks, complete prior-byte conflict comparisons, awaited close and matching full-file readback. A conflict or uncertain write blocks play and further writes while leaving a recovery download available. Choose download mode explicitly if you prefer it or direct access is unavailable; keep and reopen the latest download next time.

Eight snapshots, separate from adventure files

Name any of eight browser slots, save the current game moment, download a backup or import one. Replacement and Load require on-page confirmation. Import stores a backup without loading it. Native Load waits for an observed completion boundary, verifies the loaded state and preserves current native SRAM. The game remains paused until Resume is pressed.

The previous single-snapshot browser database and exported backup format remain recoverable through explicit import. The checklist retains its original storage key and objective identifiers. The cartridge, runtime, walkthrough, music, images and sounds are unchanged.

What was checked

Disposable file/session and slot-storage tests passed, along with exact-core blank and synthetic-SRAM startup/state probes. Local browser checks covered snapshot save and confirmed Load, current-SRAM preservation, import without Load, pending reminders, real OPFS writable streams and external-change protection. A deliberately withheld native completion correctly blocked Resume, controls, cheats and writes while retaining recovery and backup export.

These checks are not a genuine in-game statue save, chosen OS file, page reopen and in-game Load acceptance. That acceptance remains unverified, as do campaign play, cheat behavior and physical controllers. Raw .srm checks establish structural compatibility; raw SRAM does not contain a ROM revision hash.
