OCTOBER 30, 2026 · PRESERVATION BUILD · v0.1.0
PUBLISHED PREVIEW · OCTOBER 30, 2026
The first preservation build.
This dated entry records the new Super Mario World preservation build. On October 30, 2026 the user requested publication of the original game and the separate Super Juno’s World reskin without additional game testing. The unfinished checks are retained in the verification record rather than marked as passed. This is a record of the current build and publication decision.
Original game and controls
The supplied European revision 1.1 image is preserved with its original copier header. A separate headerless derivative drives a pinned self-hosted EmulatorJS 4.2.3 / SNES9x 2.0.2 runtime. The wrapper provides keyboard, touch and controller controls, pause, volume, fullscreen and independent forward/reverse speed selectors. The rates are targets limited by the device.
Unlimited lives changes the native life decrement into a load with correct branch flags. Enemy-hit invincibility returns from the revision’s HurtMario routine; it neither heals periodically nor sets the Star timer. Collision, attacks and normal music remain active. Pits, lava, timeouts, crushers and direct scripted deaths remain dangerous.
Your route
The helper contains 96 counted exits, including 24 secret exits and four Switch Palaces, plus five uncounted supply/finale/audit tasks. Search, ten chapter filters, persistent manual checkmarks and Completed view are included. No unverified native automatic completion is enabled. Manual notes do not silently change with rewind or game saves.
Media recovery
All 52 compressed GFX resources match the supplied ROM and pinned SMWDisX source. The 2,088-image gallery includes reconstructed body poses and selected enemy frames, native Map16 objects, observed OAM pieces, seven overworld terrain regions, title/interface art and native layer contexts. Raw and palette-context sheets remain labeled. Custom boss OAM, cape/Yoshi attachments, complete scrolling scenes and variant coverage remain unfinished.
Music is rendered from original SPC700 program, sequences and instrument banks. Source-byte checks cover all 20 BRR instruments and 90 unique sound-effect sequences. The player distinguishes a verified native intro/loop from repeating an entire file; variable or unverified loops receive no invented boundary. Exact counts and loop evidence remain in the audio manifest.
Verification and publication decision
Native CLI comparisons passed for enemy contact across four powerup states, actual Banzai Bill contact, retained enemy stomp, life loss on/off, one-life boundary and an actual pit death with both assists. Those tests used native SNES9x 1.63; they are distinct from browser runtime proof.
Desktop and 390px browser layout, route search and Completed view were checked without preloading the emulator. Seventeen wrapper behavior checks passed for revision guards, all-off cheats, focus and input release, stale rewind protection, SRAM import races and durable pre-import backup failure. Native CLI save/reload also passed: actual input-driven Yoshi’s Island 1 and Yellow Switch Palace completion, Continue and Save, then a fresh battery-only boot restored two exits and the switch. Browser soundtrack playback, pause, bounded boost, search/shuffle and 12× gallery zoom passed. Browser gameplay was observed at normal speed, approximately 3.91× forward at the 4× target, and approximately 2× reverse at the 2× target. This limited observation does not complete the broader forward/reverse gameplay check. Browser Continue and Save followed by a same-origin reload, complete rate and assist coverage, and controller reconnection remain unverified. Physical controller testing and a full 96-exit playthrough are also unverified. The user’s publication decision defers further game testing; it does not turn these observations into passed tests. Actual hosted HTTPS bytes still require verification after upload.
All new bulk work is on L:. Original sources, private RAM, snapshots and local session/save data stay out of the public payload. This is a published preview with gameplay, browser save, controller and complete animation coverage still incomplete. The verification record retains those limitations.
