Your card.
Your next dream.
A clearer Play now link opens the original Alundra player. Choose an existing PlayStation memory card or create a new one before the game starts, then choose that same file when you return.
Choose a card. Save when you are ready.
The player asks for a card each page session. In a supported browser, Open uses your selected raw card; Create asks for a folder and a new filename. Creating a card refuses an existing name. Finish an in-game diary save, then use the prompt’s Save action to update the same selected file. Closing the prompt keeps the changes pending.
A confirmed file save waits for the write to close and reads back the complete card. Full-byte comparisons check for changes to the selected file, and an exclusive browser writer protects the commit. Conflicts or uncertain writes stop further saving and retain a recovery copy. These guards do not provide a filesystem-wide lock against other programs or cloud editors.
Download mode is an explicit choice.
If direct file access is unavailable, or you choose download mode, acknowledge that the browser cannot update the original file automatically. Download the updated memory card after saving and keep it before leaving. A requested download does not establish that a file was replaced or that the download finished.
Earlier Alundra browser cards can be requested as a recovery download. Recovery reads only the retained Alundra record without changing it. It does not migrate, select or start with that card automatically; explicitly open the recovered file to use it.
A prompt, with a limited meaning.
The player watches for a structurally valid card with allocated saves whose bytes remain unchanged over repeated running samples. This is a generic stability heuristic, not the game’s native save-completed signal. Pause, hidden tabs, rewind, snapshot operations and recovery suspend sampling. Let the in-game save finish before accepting a file update.
Snapshots stay separate.
Existing edition-bound Alundra snapshot files keep their format. Card files, snapshots and route checks are separate. Snapshot operations share busy guards with card handling; an uncertain restore or unexpected card change keeps play paused and requires a fresh page rather than reporting a confirmed restore. The revised public snapshot flow remains unverified.
What was checked.
The file session and chooser passed isolated local tests with in-memory file handles, delayed and failed writes, concurrent sessions and a controlled page model. These checks establish the tested code paths, not real browser picker operation or file durability. No live-site gameplay tests were run for this update.
Genuine Alundra diary save → chosen local file → restart → original in-game load remains unverified. Earlier local play reached Inoa, wrote a diary save and retained identical browser-card bytes after one reload; it did not complete the original Continue/load check. Physical controllers, a full campaign and the three assistance behaviors also remain unverified. HP, magic and monster hit protection remain unavailable.
