Getting past the black screen on a phone.

The desktop player could start while the same game stayed black on a Samsung Z Fold4. Testing on that physical phone found an emulator startup crash during CD mounting. Both original CD files were being delivered correctly.

The fix changes one line of the browser boot configuration: CD-mount status messages go to DOS NUL. That avoids a console-writing path which can suspend through a native function that the pinned core does not prepare for suspension. The original DOS program, game files, CDs and emulator WebAssembly stay unchanged.

What was checked

The clean player opened the original logo and cafe video in Chrome 156 on the physical Samsung. The touch keyboard opened, Escape reached the title screen, and AI Play and Pause AI controls responded. The normal WebGL renderer works; changing the display renderer was not the solution.

The existing 24× adjustable sound boost, mute controls and save namespace remain in place. This change does not replace the original voices or alter their source files.

Playing on a phone

Open the player and tap Start game, or choose AI Play. Use the keyboard icon inside the game sidebar for touch keys. Rotate your phone for more room. Pause AI and Take over remain available. A desktop mouse and keyboard are recommended for manual activities.

Coverage and source

This is a startup fix with introductory phone testing. A complete touch campaign, iOS/Safari and physical speaker loudness are not verified here. AI Play still needs manual help for paintball and unsupported activities. Prior save and campaign limits remain in the preservation record.

Read the technical note, current configuration, and bundle update source. The earlier boot bundle and source history are retained.
