SONIC LIGHTING TEST 0.1.1
Sonic Lighting Test: backgrounds at dusk and a light after dark
The background image controls dawn/dusk blending, with an automatic warm light near Sonic after dark.
Only the background sets the period.
Only the background image controls dawn/dusk blending. Foreground scenery can still hide the Sun and its glow without changing the background period.
A light when the scene gets dark.
A warm light near Sonic turns on automatically after dark and fades with daylight. A toggle and strength control adjust it, and the Night preview shows the result. The light affects nearby foreground scenery and Sonic while leaving the distant background unchanged. It is a visual aid, independent of gameplay and power-up state.
The same Java first act.
The compiled Java gameplay engine, original Java sources, original artwork and music remain unchanged.
The frozen visual checks passed: 12 background/glow optics regressions and 12 local-light unit tests; Actual foreground and mapped-sprite occlusion leaves every background material byte unchanged; Night light illuminates Sonic and nearby foreground without changing distant background or physics; Night preview, strength and toggle controls and Original preset pass actual page-module checks; Seven Original-mode captures remain byte-identical; Actual page RAF input route completes Act1 with all assists off; Original Java engine/art/audio and prior source archive remain unchanged. The unchanged Java engine remains bound to its previously verified first-act route.
Green Hill Zone Act 1 visual test. Later acts, playable Special Stages and original boot/loading behavior remain outside this build.
