Shadowrun’s checklist follows your game

The original-game walkthrough now checks supported actions as you play, remembers the run, and follows your saved snapshots.

Progress beside the original game

The left walkthrough now follows source-backed game state and observed actions. It has automatic rules for 97 of its 100 tasks, including all 80 required story tasks. Three optional, open-ended preparation suggestions remain manual. The next unfinished task stays highlighted, and manual checkboxes remain available when an action needs your help.

The rules cover specific pickups, learned topics, original quest effects, equipment, dialogue and item-read events, travel dependencies, bosses and the final objective. Entering a room alone does not complete its unrelated quests. A completed action stays checked within the current run after an item is used or an old conversation topic disappears.

Saved positions keep their checklist

Browser and exported original-game snapshots can now include checklist history tied to the exact saved RAM. Loading or importing a snapshot restores its own progress instead of merging the position you just left. Older original snapshots still load; facts that remain in the game can be rediscovered, while an old save cannot recreate every earlier brief dialogue or item-reading event. Native in-game new/load boundaries clear the previous run’s observation history.

Preservation and limits

The new progress reader does not change game RAM, stats, inventory, controller inputs or cartridge bytes. The ROM, pinned emulator, controller adapter and optional Matchbox guide retain their existing versions and source hashes. The original snapshot envelope stays v1 with optional progress metadata; the separate unfinished native reconstruction remains0.13.0.

These 97 supported task rules are based on recovered Japanese-ROM scripts and state records. They are not a claim that an entire100-task campaign has been played and tested in this browser. Brief events can be missed, some history cannot be recovered from an old bare native save, and manual checking remains the fallback. Browser visual and physical-controller testing were unavailable for this update. The complete story route includes ending spoilers and accepts the documented alternate canonical information paths.
