/ RELEASE 0.1.1
Return to
your adventure.
A repair for reopening your save file, plus a clear way to recover the game’s sound.
Keep the same save.
After ordinary preferences were saved, a later visit could select a different Snes9x build and stop before opening a valid session. The player now keeps this edition’s verified build selected. The cartridge, emulator bytes, game identity and portable save format are unchanged. Existing .snessave files continue to work; create a new file only when starting a new adventure.
The compatibility checks still reject a different ROM, changed emulator bytes or a damaged session. Renaming a file does not convert its format. Opening a valid existing file does not rewrite it.
Hear the game.
The player now shows its sound status beside an Enable sound / Mute sound button. Enable sound resumes the game’s existing audio context and restores its volume, using 60% when the stored volume is zero. Ordinary game interaction respects an intentional mute and volume choice.
The recovered soundtrack is separate from this fix. Native game audio was verified in Chrome and Edge: stored mute and zero-volume settings reproduced silence after the audio gain, and the actual Enable sound button restored nonzero output. A suspended native audio context was also resumed without replacing it.
What was checked.
The original reload failure was reproduced using the exact deployed 0.1.0 files. Tests cover an untouched 0.1.0 session, a new session saved and reopened on a fresh page after preferences persist, stable file bytes on Open, incorrect identity rejection, native audio recovery, and the desktop and mobile controls. Previous game media, vendor files, shared session modules and the first dated blog entry are retained.
Physical speakers, operating-system picker permission dialogs and a complete campaign are separate from these browser tests. Saving inside the game still does not automatically update the portable file; use Save session now to keep your current position.
