/ RELEASE 0.1.0
Seven eras.
A place in the archive.
Live A Live’s supplied SNES English translation has a section of its own: a playable original, portable save files, recovered sound and imagery, and five new painted illustrations.
Keep the adventure.
The unchanged supplied cartridge runs through self-hosted EmulatorJS / Snes9x. The filename identifies Aeon Genesis English translation 1.00b. The unpatched Japanese cartridge was not supplied, and this release does not claim a new full-game reconstruction.
A .snessave file keeps the complete emulator position, including cartridge save RAM. Create a new file or load the latest one, then choose Save session now to update it. Download mode creates a copy and tells you that the selected file was not overwritten. Saving in the game itself does not update this session file automatically.
A route on the left. Help on the right.
The story panel counts 37 milestones across nine chapters. Thirty-six have source-based game checks; the ending remains manually confirmed. Manual true and false choices override checks and travel with the matching snapshot. Loading an older session restores that session’s choices and recomputes game checks.
Optional cheats start off: Infinite HP, already-owned Edo coins at 99, fast experience, plentiful already-owned consumables, and suppression of the random-encounter risk counter in the Middle Ages and Final Chapter. This game has no general MP pool or shared gold wallet. Its Edo Money is an inventory item.
Recover the sound.
The audio collection contains 448 listening entries: 42 musical sequence slots and 406 effects, voices, ambience and bank variants. All 78 sequence slots, 256 paired effect slots and four interface commands are inventoried, with 466 complete native SPC artifacts and 86 logical BRR sample entries preserved. Loader slots are classified by their actual content so effects stay out of the music playlist.
Fifty-five cues have verified source-period loop boundaries. The intro plays once, then the measured region repeats. Equal phase offsets reduce join steps without fades or crossfades; only one cue has a complete subsequent PCM period that is bit-identical. Forty-five unending or undetermined effects have clearly labeled 14-second listening previews with complete SPC downloads. Scene-specific tempo, pitch and mute variants remain in the original source; not every variation has a separate recording.
Keep the pixels. Paint the heroes.
The graphics collection exposes 2,254 PNGs: original captures, 250 enemy images, 736 battle frames and 23 atlases, both background layers for 525 maps, palettes and packet previews. It retains 244 source packets, including 228 decoded packets, with source offsets and palette records.
The Illustrations section holds five new AI-generated fan paintings based on the two user-supplied style and character references. Full views, keyboard navigation and downloads are available. Original PNG masters, exact prompts and reference hashes are preserved separately from recovered cartridge art.
What was checked.
Tests cover exact native snapshot restoration, downloaded saves and real browser file-handle create/write/close/readback/reopen; snapshot-bound checklist choices; a genuine controller-only battle with HP cheats off, on and off again; source extraction and recorded hashes; desktop/mobile galleries; and the music player’s source-rate decoding and loop behavior. The release gate binds these checks to the bounded payload.
What remains.
A complete campaign, all source-derived route checks, physical controllers, operating-system picker permissions, every special battle and actual encounter suppression have not all been playtested. Field sprite palette/animation bindings, dynamic objects, lighting, HDMA and animation timing remain unfinished. Static background layers are preserved separately from final live scenes.
