Move at
your pace.

Speed through a familiar moment, or return to something you just played.

Hold to move through time.

Hold F or the on-screen 2× speed button to fast-forward the original game. Hold R or Hold to rewind to move back through recent play. Release the control to return to normal play. Keyboard controls apply while the game is focused; the buttons also work with keyboard focus and pointer or touch input. Existing controller mappings stay unchanged.

A history for this session.

Rewind keeps copied native snapshots every 250 milliseconds and steps back at most every 125 milliseconds. The retained snapshot arrays are capped at 32 MiB, around 40 standard states; the emulator heap and temporary working copies use additional memory. Its duration varies with capture timing and available history. Loading a save, choosing another session file or starting a new adventure clears that history. It does not become part of your portable save file.

The pinned emulator’s built-in rewind could return to an outgoing game position after another session was loaded. This update therefore keeps native rewind disabled and owns its bounded snapshot history in the player. Restoring a rewind position uses the same verified emulator and cartridge. Automatic story checks refresh for the restored position; your manual checklist choices remain yours.

Keep saves and sound in step.

Time controls release for save and load operations, file dialogs, pause, lost focus and a hidden page. The save format, game identity, ROM and emulator bytes remain unchanged. Existing portable sessions still open, and ordinary playback respects intentional mute and volume settings. Use Save session now when you want to keep the current position in your chosen file.

What was checked.

Tests bind the final player sources and cover native 2× playback, actual snapshot reversal, the memory limit, release and load boundaries, story metadata, local-file and download flows, sound preferences and recovery around time controls, and desktop and mobile layouts. Previous release records, dated posts, packages, recovered music and imagery, vendor files and shared session modules are retained.

The checks use generated diagnostic sessions. Physical controllers and speakers, operating-system picker permission dialogs and a complete campaign remain separate tests. Rewind affects the current game position; saving that position still requires Save session now.
