Chrono Trigger Resurrection — original graphics archive The supplied ZIP and SMC remain unchanged. No replacement game imagery was downloaded. Every recovered asset comes from the supplied US SNES ROM. Recovered in the first preservation release (2026-10-25): 1,131 identified graphics/palette/map/layout/source regions 1,038 validated original CT compressed streams 365 sprite frame sheets (7,819 inferred frames) 214 static BG1/BG2 background compositions, representing 486 location records 87 original colored metatile sets 525 grayscale source tile sheets 65 palette source previews 256 original 12x12 dialogue glyphs plus a combined font sheet 64 exact ROM-bank slices, reassembling the full 4 MiB headerless ROM Folders: raw/ exact identified ROM source regions decoded/ original decompressed CT data, not new game content sprites/ assembled frame sheets and early-frame previews backgrounds/ static original BG1/BG2 map compositions and thumbnails metatiles/ original tiles, attributes, flips, and location palettes previews/ grayscale tiles or BGR555 palette data in storage order fonts/ original dialogue glyphs, indexed by hexadecimal code raw-rom-banks/ all original banks, including unclassified code/data Important limits: This is source extraction and research visualization, not a claim that every game scene or effect has been reconstructed. Static backgrounds exclude BG3, objects, color math, event changes, scroll offsets, and animation. Location palette row zero is scene-controlled and transparent in these previews. Sprite body colors 1-12 are original; weapon/effect colors 13-15 use neutral preview colors. Frame bounds are inferred from the next pointer/bank extent; padding and unusual boss layouts need in-game comparison. Nine location records (five unique configurations) cannot yet be statically composed from their short map streams. Two unusual sprite definitions contain out-of-range tile references. All of their original source bytes are retained. Reproduce, from this L: project folder: python tools/graphics-extract.py python tools/graphics-maps.py python tools/graphics-fonts.py python tools/graphics-finalize.py python tools/graphics-verify.py Or run tools/graphics-rebuild.ps1. Requires Python and Pillow; the retained ChronoRET and chrono-editor research checkouts provide MIT-licensed tools and format references. Python bytecode/temp output is kept off C:. manifest.json records original addresses, file offsets (including the 512-byte copier header), SHA-256 hashes, source commits, transformations, and limitations. reports/graphics-*.json records the validation results at the project root.
