GoldenEye USA website edition 1.0.2 — October 31, 2026
Current editable entry: player-1.0.2.js; modern input bridge: original/modern-controls-1.0.2.js. Matching source copies accompany this edition. Save helper saves-1.0.1.js and data/runtime-config-1.0.1.json remain unchanged.
The original supplied ROM and exact standard nonthreaded WebGL2 core are unchanged. This update adds an explicitly enabled solo dual-stick gamepad profile using the original game's native 2.2 Galore mode. The user selects 2.2 Galore, Upright look and Hold aim in Bond's watch. Original mapping/setup remains the default on each visit. Right stick navigates native menus; left stick moves/strafes in solo play. During native aiming, left-stick Y retains crouch/scope-zoom behavior. Playback-speed trigger reservations take precedence only while enabled.
The bridge writes no ROM, game RAM, native control preferences or persistent emulator controller mappings. Connect a standard dual-stick gamepad as Player 1. Neutral-release handling follows pause, page inactivity, mode changes and reconnect. Physical-controller behavior and wireless recovery remain unverified until actual hardware checks establish them.
Control research: https://github.com/n64decomp/007/tree/c4356466796c697dfd298010b9bed261f9ed8c6a and https://github.com/EmulatorJS/EmulatorJS/blob/v4.2.3/data/src/emulator.js . Exact current verification scope is in data/modern-controls-verification-1.0.2.json and the dated modern-controls article. Twenty-six synthetic input-source checks passed. One isolated local native-menu/interface session selected 2.2 Galore, Upright and Hold and observed the layout/invert/sensitivity/deadzone controls updating visibly. That session used one core launch, no physical controller or manual save/load/import/export, and ended with normal Pause and test-tab closure. Actual dual-stick movement/look/trigger response, state execution, native save/reload, campaign and cheat effects remain unverified.
prepare-modern-controls-source.txt contains the bounded 1.0.1-to-1.0.2 preparation helper, retained as text to avoid server script execution. Copy/rename to a local .py file to inspect/use. It verifies the accepted baseline, creates new ordinary copies, preserves previous release metadata, and freezes only after a source/local-interface acceptance receipt. It does not publish. Historical prepare-renderer-repair-source.txt is the specific 1.0.0-to-1.0.1 updater. build.mjs, freeze.mjs and package.py are HISTORICAL 1.0.0 recipes; never run them as a routine rebuild of current releases.
Previous source README/file identities are under source/history/1.0.0/ and source/history/1.0.1/. Archived release records are releases/1.0.0.json and releases/1.0.1.json. Previous versioned modules, dated articles and online downloadable ZIPs stay unchanged.
Stable storage identities: cosom-goldeneye-usa-v1-native; cosom-goldeneye-usa-v1-player; cosom-goldeneye-usa-v1-states; cosom-goldeneye-usa-state-v1; goldeneye-usa-v1.n64; goldeneye-usa-v1.srm (296960 bytes); cosom:goldeneye:usa:v1:mission-notebook. The native .srm is the core's combined N64 storage container, not raw EEPROM or a PlayStation memory card.
Recognized legacy-renderer snapshots remain in their original slots and can be exported after checksum validation; loading/import requires matching exact runtime identity. Do not migrate, delete, overwrite or relabel them. Native cartridge saves remain separate.
Source/synthetic and bounded local interface checks are separate from physical gamepad play, native save/reload durability, full campaign completion and cheat-effect acceptance. Keep private receipts, screenshots, user saves, credentials, RAM, states and session data out of public packages.
Serve the offline tree over HTTP with /n64/goldeneye-usa/ as the project route and the supplied /assets/ dependencies; browser storage requires localhost or HTTPS. Wider COSOM links require the live site. Offline ZIPs exclude downloads/ so previous ZIP envelopes are not recursively nested. Each future update needs its own actual dated note, preserved history, new hashes/archive and guarded publication.
